US Department of State,

Arts Envoy -Kolkata

[Postponed Until December 2020 due to COVID-19)
I will be traveling to India to represent the US as an Arts Envoy at the American Center in Kolkata. I will be working with a team of 2 other teaching artists to develop and create a new play that engages young people in celebrating diversity and fostering inclusion in that part of the world. There will be participants from India, Nepal, Bangladesh and the US working together to devise this play and ultimately perform it in Kolkata in addition to touring to 3 other cities in the NW part of the country. I am incredibly grateful for this opportunity and look forward to sharing more about my experience as it gets closer!

The In[HEIR]itance Project,

Community Outreach Manager

The In[heir]itance Project is a national arts organization that collaborates with communities through an open creative process, that combines their lived experiences through the lens of a sacred text. We interpret sacred text to be anything that holds meaning for the community.

As Community Outreach Manager I work to develop relationships that integrate our team into communities around the United states in order to foster mutually beneficial programming that catalyzes conversation and connections across the city.

Lab/Shul,

Performer & Educator

Lab/Shul is an “everybody friendly, artist-driven, God-optional, experimental community for sacred Jewish gatherings.” As part of their spiritual community for the last four years I have been lucky to be able to take on a variety of roles, including as a performer with Storytelling, their innovative Torah-meets-performance take on community learning.

I have also been a Lab/Jr educator for High Holiday services, as well as working with teens in the Raising The Bar Program, to prepare young adults for their B-Mitzvah celebration through text study, critical thinking and explorations of Jewish culture and identity.

Opening Act, Mentor Teaching Artist

Opening Act is an after school theater program that uses improvisation as a tool to help students unleash their creativity, foster collaboration, and develop leadership and problem-solving skills. Over the course of two semesters, TAs work with an ensemble of High School Artists to build theatre skills and develop an original piece of theatre that expresses their lived experiences and points of view.

I am lucky to be with the incredible ensemble at the Herbert H. Lehman Campus in the Bronx for my 3rd year. Follow this link to see the final performance they created for Opening Act’s 2018 YESFest!
